Everything you are wondering before you join.
Why should I pay $12/month when Indeed and ZipRecruiter are free?

Fair question. The short answer is that free job boards are free because employers are their customers, not you. That dynamic is exactly why ghosting is so common. You are not the product on WorkHonest. You are a member.

Your $12/month buys you a 30-day response guarantee on every application you submit. Every employer on WorkHonest commits to responding to you within 30 days. Yes, no, or let's talk, but always something. That guarantee alone is worth more than the monthly fee if you have ever sent 50 applications into silence.

Less than half the price of LinkedIn Premium ($30/month). One application response that leads to a job makes the entire membership cost negligible.

What is the 30-day response guarantee exactly?

Every employer on WorkHonest signs the Employer Pledge when they post a role, a commitment to respond to every applicant within 30 days. The moment you apply, a 30-day countdown begins and is tracked in your dashboard.

If an employer does not respond within 30 days, it impacts their public Employer Response Score, visible on every listing they post. Repeated non-responses result in listing suspension. The guarantee is enforced through public accountability, not just promised.

You receive an immediate confirmation email with the exact deadline date when you apply.

What is Stealth Search and how does it work?

Stealth Search is for professionals who are currently employed and searching privately. When enabled, your full name is shown as initials only, your profile photo is hidden, your current employer's name is removed, and your LinkedIn and social links are hidden from employers.

You also enter your current employer's domain (e.g. yourcompany.com) and WorkHonest blocks all employers using that domain from seeing your profile or receiving your applications entirely.

Stealth Search reduces but does not eliminate all risk of discovery. Information in your profile description or resume may itself identify you.

Can I see the employer's Response Score before I apply?

Yes, and this is one of the most important features on WorkHonest. Every listing shows the employer's public Response Score before you apply. You can see their response rate, average response time, member reviews, and listing accuracy.

A score above 80 means you are very likely to receive a timely, honest response. A score below 60 means the employer has a history of slow or missing responses, and you can make an informed decision about whether to apply.

What happens if an employer does not respond within 30 days?

If an employer misses their 30-day deadline, it counts against their Employer Response Score. Their score drops, which reduces their listing visibility on WorkHonest. Employers with scores below 40 face reduced visibility, and below 30 face posting suspension.

You also receive a notification in your dashboard that the deadline has passed without a response, so you always know exactly where you stand. You are never left wondering.

WorkHonest sends the employer an automated reminder at Day 25, giving them five days to respond before the score impact.

How do I apply? Is there a long form to fill out?

No long forms. When you apply, your WorkHonest profile and default resume attach automatically. You write a short cover note (we suggest 3 to 5 sentences), optionally add a LinkedIn or portfolio URL, and optionally swap in a tailored resume for this specific role. That is it.

Your application goes directly to the named hiring contact, not into a black box or an ATS that filters you before a human sees you.

Can I use WorkHonest for consulting or contract work?

Yes. Consulting and fractional engagements are a core part of WorkHonest. The Talent tier ($12/month) covers both full-time job searching and contract or fractional work. Every listing clearly states the engagement type so you know exactly what you are applying to.

For Employers
What good employers want to know.
Is $100/month really all I pay, with no per-listing fees?

Yes. $100/month covers unlimited job and engagement listings of any type. There are no per-listing fees, no per-click charges, no resume database fees, no feature unlocks. One flat rate, everything included.

By comparison, ZipRecruiter starts at $399/month, LinkedIn Recruiter Lite runs $170/month plus per-listing costs, and Indeed becomes unpredictable fast. WorkHonest is the most straightforward pricing in the industry.

Ask about Founding Employer status. 50 spots with your rate locked permanently at $100/month forever.

What is the 30-day response requirement? Is it really mandatory?

Yes. When you post a role you commit to responding to every applicant within 30 days. We make this as easy as possible. Every application notification email includes a one-click decline button. No login required, no message to write. One click sends a warm, professional decline to the applicant automatically and records your response. Fulfilling your commitment takes less than 30 seconds.

The 30-day response requirement is what makes WorkHonest worth joining for job seekers. It is the reason your listings attract serious, motivated candidates.

What is the one-click decline and how does it work?

When an application arrives, you receive an email with the applicant's profile, cover note, credentials, and resume. At the bottom is a single green button: "Not a fit, send respectful decline."

Clicking that button fires an automated professional decline email to the applicant on your behalf, records your response, updates your Response Score, and closes the application. No login. No dashboard. No message to write. One click from your inbox.

What is the Employer Response Score and how is it calculated?

The Employer Response Score is a public accountability rating visible on every listing you post. It is calculated from four components: response rate (40%), timeliness (30%), member reviews from verified applicants (20%), and listing accuracy (10%).

The score cannot be purchased, hidden, or removed. It updates weekly based on real applicant data. Employers with high scores attract more qualified applicants. It is a genuine competitive advantage.

Score thresholds: below 70 receives a warning, below 50 gets reduced listing visibility, below 30 triggers posting suspension.

What is Vacation Mode?

Vacation Mode pauses the 30-day response clock on all your open applications while you are out of office. You set a return date (maximum 14 days) and your listings display an out-of-office notice showing when responses will resume. The clock picks up exactly where it left off when you return.

Can I pause a listing if I get too many applications?

Yes, in two ways. You can set a maximum application limit when posting. When that number is reached, applications automatically pause and you receive an alert. You then choose: Pause and Hold (listing stays visible with a paused banner) or Pause and Pull Down (listing removed from browse entirely). You can also manually pause any listing from your dashboard at any time.

What is a Founding Employer and how do I qualify?

WorkHonest is accepting its first 50 employers as Founding Members. Founding Employers get their $100/month rate locked permanently. They also receive a homepage logo as a founding partner, a Founding Employer badge on every listing, a personal onboarding call with Justin, the founder.

To claim a Founding Employer spot, sign up at workhonest.co/signup or email hello@workhonest.co.

32 of 50 spots remaining as of March 2026.

For Veterans
Your service is recognized here.
What military credentials does WorkHonest recognize?

WorkHonest recognizes credentials from all six branches: Army MOS, Navy A School and C School ratings, USAF AFSC, USMC MOS, Coast Guard Ratings, and Space Force (USSF) credentials.

This recognition is grounded in 70 years of evaluation through the American Council on Education's Military Guide, operated under a US Department of Defense contract. These are real qualifications and WorkHonest treats them that way.

What does it mean when an employer accepts military credentials?

When an employer selects military credentials on a listing, they are committing to consider your MOS, A School, AFSC, or Rating alongside traditional degrees and certifications. This commitment is part of the Employer Pledge and is tracked through their Response Score.

Filter listings by "Military Credentials Accepted" in browse to see only employers who have made this commitment.

What is the verification process and what happens to my DD-214?

When you sign up for the Veteran tier, you upload your DD-214. Please black out your Social Security Number and any other sensitive personal information before uploading. WorkHonest only needs your branch, years of service, and character of discharge.

Your DD-214 is reviewed within 24 hours and permanently deleted within 30 days of verification. It is never stored long-term, never shared with employers, and never used for any purpose other than verifying your veteran status.

Your first month is completely free while your verification is processed.

Does my branch insignia show on my profile when I apply?

Yes. Once verified, your branch insignia appears on your profile card and on every application you submit. Employers who care about veteran talent can see your service branch immediately when your application arrives.

The Platform
How WorkHonest works behind the scenes.
Are these jobs real? Do you scrape other job boards?

Every job on WorkHonest is posted directly by a verified employer who signed the Employer Pledge. We do not scrape other job boards. We do not aggregate listings from third-party sources. If it is here, it is real, it is active, and there is a named human being accountable for it.

We conduct random spot checks on active listings to verify they are current and accurately represent the role. If a listing does not meet our standards it comes down.

What categories does WorkHonest cover?

WorkHonest covers 11 categories: IT and Technology, Finance and Accounting, HR and People, Management and Strategy, Operations and People, Healthcare and Clinical, Skilled Trades, Manufacturing and Operations, Education and Training, Government and Public Sector, and Career Pivot.

How does the Response Score work exactly?

The Employer Response Score is calculated weekly from four components: Response Rate (40%), timeliness relative to the 30-day window (30%), member reviews from verified applicants (20%), and listing accuracy (10%). Scores range from 0 to 100 and cannot be purchased or hidden.

Score consequences: below 70 receives a public warning label, below 50 gets reduced listing visibility, below 30 triggers posting suspension.

Can I follow companies and get notified about new roles?

Yes. From any company profile page, click Follow. New roles from companies you follow appear in your dashboard and you receive a notification email the moment they post. You can manage your followed companies from your dashboard at any time.

What is the community feature and how does it work?

WorkHonest's community is built on two features: written recommendations and purposeful introductions. Written recommendations are at least 3 sentences from a verified member. Purposeful introductions require both parties to accept before contact is made, so there is no cold outreach or spam.

There are no follower counts, no engagement metrics, and no algorithmic feed. The community is designed to be meaningful, not performative.
